Welcome back to school for a new academic year. It is lovely to see the children. They all look lovely and smart in their uniform for the start of the new year. The black trainers look really smart and are acceptable as appose to any coloured trainers.

Parking-New parking restrictions have come into force on Blyton Avenue.  Law Enforcement Officers will be on Blyton Avenue to ensure everyone is legally parked. Please check the signs for when you can and can’t park on Blyton Avenue.

PE and Sport-PE kits should be in school. Black shorts and a white t-shirt please and trainers or sand shoes. These will be kept in school at all times. The children will have 2 hours of PE a week in line with Government recommendations. They are able to wear black leggings or tracksuit bottoms as the winter approaches for when they go outdoors.

Swimming has started for year 4 at Haven Point. They will need a swimming hat, a costume and a towel. Boys shorts need to be tight, they are not allowed surf shorts. The swimming teachers will not let the boys swim with baggy shorts. Swimming is on a Monday.

Club letters have been sent out.

Staffing-Miss Campbell in year 1 is now Mrs Butler after getting married during the summer. Mrs Hannard is expecting a baby next year but will be working in the 2 year old setting up until her maternity leave.

The staff would like to say thank you for all their gifts at the end of term. We are all back feeling refreshed and ready for the term ahead.

School Building-91 window replacements took place during the summer holidays. These look lovely and will be more energy efficient. Our sensory garden next to the old school house has been vandalised over the summer, please keep your eyes and ears open for any information.

If your child rides a scooter or a bike to school can they please store it near the blue railings opposite the nursery garden. This means that the other school children can’t ride or fiddle with them during the school day.

Coffee Morning-The coffee morning has restarted on a Friday morning in the family room. It is run by Mrs Quinn, everyone is welcome. There will be a MacMillan coffee morning on 6th October, please donate cakes on the day and come along.

Lunchtimes-Any child in receipt of Free School Meals will not be allowed a packed lunch. We are extremely pushed for space and time to feed 200 children so we are unable to let children mix packed lunches and dinners throughout the week. Children will be required to stay for either a packed lunch or a dinner all week. This way the kitchen staff can plan for the week.
