North East Leaders Award

Following on from our success last year, we will be participating in the North East Leaders Award where pupils apply an engineer’s eye to the world and identify problems in need of solving. When they have settled on their idea, they draw and annotate it, making clear what the problem is and their unique solution to it.

Our participation is being extended across all of Key Stage 2 into Key Stage 1 for this year’s competition. During Science Week, pupils will have the opportunity to design products that solve particular problems, and then write about their products and the solutions they provide.

Last year we had two winners:

Codey Payne and her ‘Super Shower’ which incorporates shower gel, shampoo and conditioner at the touch of a button.

Finlay Wake and his ‘Attached Tooth Brush’ which combines tooth brush, toothpaste and floss will make teeth brushing quicker and more efficient.
