Lord Blyton’s first game together as a team

The Lord Blyton football team stormed into a 1-0 lead in their first match of the season, which took place at Mortimer Comp, with Carter scoring a screamer. It was a freezing cold day but that didn’t get in the way of the team’s performance.

Lord Blyton found this game easy as they controlled the game from start to finish. Carter made a great pass into Matthew Moran’s path, where he buried it into the top corner with his striking left foot leaving the game sitting at 2-0. After many other chances of widening the score Mitchell delivered a superb finish into the bottom corner. The game was out of reach for our opponents St Gregory’s. The first half whistle blew after Carter snatched goal number four.

The second half continued to go Lord Blyton’s way as Jose made it 5-0 with a smashing goal into the back of the net. Lord Blyton players jumped for joy as they knew this game was in the bag. Rarely losing possession Carter got his hat trick after taking the ball off his opponent and dribbling his way to the 18 yard box and slid it past the keeper. Matthew Moran again score a screamer after a pass from Alex O’Donovan, then finally Alex getting the last goal of the day which flew straight over the keepers head finishing the game with an 8-0 win.

After the match the teams hook hands and the Lord Blyton boys celebrated a fantastic start to their season as a school football team.
