Year 4 are working through their Art unit entitled ‘Painting and Mixed Media: Light and Dark’. 

They have been mixing tints and shades of various paint colours, creating a 3 dimensional painting using tints and shades and finally practising various painting techniques such as dabbing, stippling, Pointillism, washes, adding texture using salt or glitter in the paint and using different equipment such as sponges and spatulas to create a different effect. 

Look out for their final still-life compositional paintings in a few weeks time, when the children try to incorporate all they have learnt throughout this unit.
