This half term, Year 3 will be learning about plants in science. Today, we took part in a live STEM lesson to introduce our new topic. The lesson taught us about different types of plants, the parts of a plant and how to look after plants in the garden. We discovered that as the world’s population grows, we will be relying more upon plant based food products. We also learnt about the wildlife that can be found in a garden and how their habitats and food chains work. Plants are used in lots of medicines that keep us fit and healthy- who knew?! It was great to see scientists at work in a real life laboratory and a great way to introduce our new topic. It really got us thinking and was very interesting.
