Today, Miss Georgeson completed training at Sunderland University which will enable her to further develop and support STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) in our school. The course was sponsored by the Reece Foundation and supported by a number of local businesses such as the Port of Tyne, Adient and ADC Electrical. The aim of the day was to develop STEM awareness in the classroom and also to allow pupils at Lord Blyton to take part in an engineering project, meeting real life engineers and also finding out more about careers and raising aspirations. Now that the training is complete, our pupils can work together to design and make vehicles (including those with electrical components) and will showcase their talents at a celebration event. As a school, we were gifted a whole host of new equipment to add to our resources and to support the delivery of STEM/ design technology in school. How exciting!
