Our 3 Year Old Nursery children have been learning about flowers and bees.  They planted sunflower seeds,  which we will watch grow and change. We talked about the different parts of a plant. We read the story ‘The Tiny Seed’ by Eric Carl then pretended to be busy bees flying from colourful chalked  flower to flower collecting pollen on a piece of cotton wool as we listened to the music ‘The flight of the Bumble Bee’ We went to Forest School to search for different types of flower and found daisies, dandelions, apple blossom, bluebells and elderflower.  We then created our own beautiful sunflowers using loose parts by adding a seed, root, shoot, stem, leaves and flower.
