The Tiny Forest staff visited school to work with the KS2 children today to check on the trees that we planted together as a school. Now that our tiny forest is established, the children were involved in identifying, classifying and measuring the growth of the trees to see how they were doing. We were using our STEM skills (science and mathematics) and also our geography skills, discussing the location of the trees and the impact that our tiny forest will have on the local area and the wider community.
