As part of our Remembrance celebrations in Nursery, the children have been learning how the poppy is symbol that helps people to remember and say thank you to those people a long time ago and today who keep us all safe. We created a huge red poppy together by collecting red and black objects from around the classroom. In Forest school we hunted for red poppies which we collected and counted before making our own beautiful poppies using loose parts. Our children have also learnt the Makaton sign for ‘remember’ if you ask them to show you, they will teach it to you.
