On a very cold wintery morning we visited Forest School to search for shiny silver stars linked to our learning about day and night. We read a story called ‘Day Monkey Night Monkey’ by Julia Donaldson and talked lots about the differences between day and night. We have been learning the signs for day, night, stars and moon. We used our ‘funky fingers’ to decorate stars by wrapping elastic bands around which was fiddly and made us concentrate and our fingers work hard so that they become stronger for holding a pencil, using the scissors and doing up our zips. We warmed up with a lovely hot chocolate and dunky biscuits 🍪
