This week in science, Year 5 have been making their own sundials to tell the time with. They drew the scale onto their sundial using a guide which was calibrated to our latitude. Then made a gnomon which was positioned along the line to 12pm. Before testing them outside, they used a compass to align it with true north. Some of them were very accurate!
