Year 5 visited Jarrow Hall today as part of their history topic on the Anglo Saxons and Vikings. They spent the morning looking around the farm and Anglo Saxon village and enjoyed a spooky retelling of Beowulf to firelight in one of the large Anglo Saxon buildings. After lunch, they took part in 2 workshops – Religion and Burial and Anglo Saxon Battles, and even re-enacted a battle between the Anglo Saxons and Vikings! It was so much fun and really enhanced our learning and brought the Anglo Saxons to life. We all had a fantastic day!
