Charlie Crow in the Snow

As part of our learning about the season Winter, we read a story called ‘Charlie Crow in the Snow’. We have been thinking about animals in Winter and learnt that birds sometimes find it hard to find food. Some of our Nursery children decided to make tasty treats in Forest School for Charlie and his friends. We carefully threaded cereal hoops onto pipe cleaners using our fine motor skills. Then we hung them in the trees so the birds would have something to eat in the cold frosty weather when the ground is frozen and there are no worms or berries or insects to eat. This week is Bird Watch week so we will be bringing home a bird feeder to hang in your gardens. Please if you see any birds either at home or out and about can you take a photograph and send it to us to share. As a special treat for being so kind to the birds, we made our own hot chocolate by swirling chocolate lollies in warm milk. It was lots of fun seeing the chocolate melt as it became warm and the milk turn brown! It was also very delicious and warmed us up! πŸ¦…πŸ¦’πŸ¦
