Reception carried out a STEM eggsperiment linked to our Spring story ‘Hugless Douglas and the Baby Birds’ In the story the birds nest full of eggs fell out of the tree and was caught by Douglas. We decided to find a way to protect the eggs to stop them from breaking as they landed on the ground. We tested lots of different materials on the ground to see which would protect the eggs best. We dropped the egg from the same height each time to make our test fair. We found that the bubble wrap and cushion were best because they were soft and spongy but the silver foil was not so good so the the egg cracked 🥚🦅🐻
