The children in the KS1 Base did an amazing fundraising activity during Science week. After making some delicious fruit kebabs for the Very Hungry Caterpillar on World Book Day, the children decided to share their creative food skills with the full school and raise money for local charities too!
Mrs Burgess is running the London Marathon in April to support 3 local charities: South Tyneside Young Carers, The KAYAKS and Jarrow Post 11 Autistic Unit. The KS1 Base children sold their delicious fruit kebabs to the full school to support her fundraising and managed to raise an incredible £120!
Life skills, teamwork, fine motor skills, independence, science and technology, healthy eating and charity fundraising all in one morning. Fantastic work!
