Year 4 and 5 took part in the Little Inventors competition earlier this year. The competition in partnership with South Tyneside Council and Dogger Bank Wind Farm was to come up with an invention focussing on the role and use of the wind. Yesterday, one of our year 5 pupil’s got a surprise when, live via a zoom call, they were announced as one of the winners! Lilli-Rose in Year 5 invented a dog lead called Leash McLeashy 2000, that generates electricity through movement of the leash so you can charge your phone while walking your dog. She was one of only 10 winners selected over the two years of the competition, and who will see her invention brought to life! Lilli-Rose will now work with a manufacturer, putting forward her idea and working with them to bring it to life. It is an incredible achievement for Lilli-Rose to have won this competition and what an amazing prize!
