Last week Reception children enjoyed reading the traditional tale ‘The Gingerbread Man.’

We decided to help the Gingerbread Man cross the river by creating boats using junk modelling materials. We thought about what materials would be best and how we could join pieces together.

We baked our own delicious gingerbread men following a recipe, weighing ingredients and taking turns to add and mix in the ingredients.

We then tested to see if our boats would transport the Gingerbread Man safely without sinking! It was lots of fun. 🥣❤️️🧑‍🍳
