Thurston Updates

Day 1 complete.
An action packed first day had.
Everybody’s happy. Goodnight from the Thurston 2025 team

Day 2 at Thurston.

Two groups climbed to the top of the old man of Coniston (803m). Whilst another group kayaked and canoed on Coniston water.

The evening activity was trying to find aliens in the grounds of Thurston, before the much loved barn time with a bit of stargazing too.

A very quiet night was had overnight, they all had a well deserved nights sleep

Today is another beautiful day with more adventures to come.

A belated Thurston day 3 update.

Activities that the groups have done yesterday during the day were canoeing, tree climbing, hill walking and abseiling.

This was followed by alien hunting part 2 and the annual Lord Blyton’s got talent competition.

This was a show to rival the royal variety. We had performances of Snow right and the 2 tiny dwarfs; and cinderella.

There were also appearances by seagulls, sheep, chickens and grandmas; not to mention a couple of magic acts thrown in!!!

Final full day at thurston- group activities today were ghyll scrambling, hill walking, firelighting, Jeti jumping and exploring a quarry.

Then the evening activity was a scavenger hunt to find natural objects around thurston.

Then before bed time we had part 2 of “Snow Right and the 2 tiny dwarfs”

A goodnight sleep had by all. Kids are all packed and are up and about doing their final activity.

All of the kids have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They have really pushed themselves out of their comfort zone, attempting and succeeding in challenges and activities that they never knew they were capable of.

They have been a pleasure to be around for the week. A real credit to the school and their parents!!
