World Book Day

2 Year Olds

A fun morning was had by all for World Book Day in the two year nursery. We read the story Shark in the Park on a Windy Day, by Nick Sharratt. We made our very own telescopes using glue and a variety of materials. We then headed to the secret garden to look for sharks. We found an umbrella, a hat, scarf and a newspaper. We then rescued the baby from being blown into the pond and found some ducks and a shark. We also played with sharks in the water tray and ducks with gel in the sensory tray. We loved looking at all the other books in the story corner.

3 Year Olds

Today our 3 Year Old Nursery children had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day. We dressed up in our favourite character costumes or our cosy pyjamas ready for a bedtime story. I think you will agree we all look fantastic! We read the story ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ by Judith Kerr and enjoyed lots of activities in
Nursery linked to the story. We had a tea party with our friends with cups of tea (decaf) and cakes. We thought about who we might like to invite to a tea party and what it would be like if a Tiger came to Nursery and ate all our food and drank all our drinks! We loved listening to the song ‘Hey Tiger’ by Robbie Williams from the film of the story and learnt the
Makaton signs for Tiger and Tea. We finished off our morning with another story about a Tiger which we voted for and dough disco to ‘Eye of the Tiger’ Your children have each brought a voucher home which allows them to choose a free book from a selection 📕 🐅 ☕
