Today in year 3, we took part in a live science lesson. This was to explore key STEM topics in a real life context, and to gain first hand experience of the world of work! We watched Dr Claire a farm vet carry out a cow health inspection. We were able to learn all about a cow’s digestive system, how farmers care for hooves and caught a live calving. We even discovered that beetles in a cow pat are an essential part of a farm’s ecosystem. We got the chance to ask and answer lots of questions, and discovered that vets work night and day to respond to all sorts of challenges.
