Year 3 took part in a Nissan Engagement workshop this week with a special visitor called Lois. Lois came to tell us all about the company Nissan and car manufacturing. We were all very impressed as Lois had worked in Nissan and had built parts for a range of different vehicles manufactured by the company. We discussed engineering and the different jobs that people do. We then became engineers ourselves, designing and constructing our own model cars using Lego. We considered different ways to power the vehicle and special design features that would enhance performance. We shared our designs and cars with each other, and were all really pleased with the results. It was a great session and made us think about career choices and the importance of STEM subjects in school.
