This afternoon our year 6 pupils visited the mosque as part of our RE work on the local Muslim community. As well as learning about the main principles of Islam, pupils were lucky enough to take part in Wudu (the cleaning ritual that takes place before prayer) and in the actual prayer ritual itself. It was a great experience which has helped us to develop respect and tolerance which are two of the five British Values. The behaviour of the children was exemplary. They asked and answered questions sensibly and showed what fabulous pupils we have here at Lord Blyton 🙂
